What we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it. Career documents are sensitive personal information and we treat them accordingly.

Who we are

My Career Builders LLC (“Career Builders”, “we”, “us”) provides professional career document development and positioning services. This policy covers mycareerbuildersllc.com and any information you send us through it.

We are a limited liability company with a registered business address at 1500 N Grant St, Ste R, Denver, CO 80203, USA. We are the controller of the personal information described in this policy.

What we collect

We collect only what we need to respond to you and deliver the work.

  • Contact details — your name, email address and, if you provide one, a phone number.
  • Career information — your career stage, target roles, the service or package you are interested in, and anything you write in the message field.
  • Documents you attach — a résumé or similar document, if you choose to send one. Attaching a document is always optional.
  • Technical data — standard web server information such as IP address, browser type and pages requested, used for security and to keep the site working.

We do not ask for, and you should not send us, government identification numbers, financial account details, health information or any other sensitive category of data. A résumé does not need them.

How we use it

  • To respond to your enquiry and recommend an appropriate engagement.
  • To carry out the service you commission.
  • To send you the newsletter, if you have asked for it.
  • To keep the site secure and functioning.
  • To meet our legal, accounting and tax obligations in respect of work you have paid for.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. We do not use your career documents as portfolio samples or publish them in any form.

Confidentiality of your documents

Many clients are running private searches while employed. We treat every engagement as confidential.

  • Documents you send are transmitted over an encrypted connection.
  • Uploaded files are never stored in a publicly accessible location and are never served from a public web address.
  • Files are held on access-controlled infrastructure and encrypted both in transit and at rest.
  • Access is limited to the people working on your engagement.
  • We will not confirm to any third party that you are a client without your permission.

How long we keep it

We do not keep personal information for longer than we need it. Our standard periods are:

  • Enquiries that do not become engagements — deleted 12 months after our last contact with you.
  • Completed engagements — your finished documents and the working notes behind them are kept for 24 months, so that you can ask us to re-supply or update them, and are then deleted.
  • Documents you uploaded — deleted within 30 days of the engagement completing, unless you ask us to retain them for a future update.
  • Newsletter subscriptions — kept until you unsubscribe, and removed promptly afterwards.
  • Billing and tax records — kept for as long as applicable law requires, regardless of the periods above.

You can ask us to delete your information sooner than any of these periods. See Your choices below.

Service providers

We use a small number of third parties to operate the site and communicate with you. They process information only on our written instructions, only as needed to provide their service, and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

The categories of provider we rely on are:

  • Website hosting and infrastructure — to serve this site and receive the forms you submit.
  • Email delivery — to correspond with you about your enquiry and your engagement.
  • Newsletter distribution — only if you have subscribed.
  • Professional advisers — accountants and legal advisers, where we are required to disclose information to them.

We do not use advertising networks, data brokers or profiling services. If you would like the current list of the specific providers we use, ask us and we will send it to you.

Your choices

  • Access and correction — ask us what we hold about you, and ask us to correct it.
  • Deletion — ask us to delete your information and any documents you sent, subject to any records we are required to keep.
  • Marketing — unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in any message. This does not affect emails about work you have commissioned.
  • Data sharing opt-out — we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. If you would like this confirmed in writing, contact us.

To exercise any of these, contact us at hello@mycareerbuildersllc.com. We aim to acknowledge privacy requests within 1–2 hours and to complete them within 30 days. If a request is complex and we need longer, we will tell you why and when to expect a response. We will never charge you for exercising these rights.
